VIENNA

5/11/08 -7/11/08
AUSTRIA
Vienna
Hostel Ruthensteiner www.hostelruthensteiner.com our hostel which was a 3min walk to the train station was a fantastic find, although the rooms were small, every thing was very clean and the staff and the facilities were excelent.
Our first night in ViennaSam and Sarah looking dreamily into a butcher shop window like 2 little puppies.A very large cat in a restaurant window.
Vienna City center at night. We started our day in Vienna with a trip to the Naschmarkt a food market that has been operating since the 16th century.
There were lots of yummy things to try but we managed to restrain our selves, instead stopping for lunch at at one of the many restaurant/cafes at the market.
The city center.
The grounds of Schönbrunn Palace, the home to the very popular and famous Sissi and Franzl
The weather in Vienna was fantastic but unfortunately they had already prepared the Palace gardens and Parts of the city for winter. Flowers and plants had been pulled out of garden beds, statues covered in bags and water fountains boarded up. The gardens were still very impressive in there shear size and landscaping. I would defiantly like to return to Vienna in the warmer months to explore this beautiful city.
Vienna Parliament.
