EASTER IN KIRANSCHÖRING

'Frohe Ostern' -'Happy Easter'
We spent Easter at Tom's Family home in Kiranschöring with all the family.
And it was no surprise that the star of Easter was Feli, entertaining all with her boundless energy.
It is a tradition hear to colour eggs and make a cake in the mold of a lamb for Easter. The eggs and the lamb are taken to Easter church service in a decorated basket and left at the alter for the priest to bless, which is later eaten to mark the end of the penances of Lent and the celebration of the Resurrection.
Toms mum has marked the eggs which have been blessed with a little cross.
Spring has begun and there are flowers every were, so many tulips and blossoms. I have never seen a country so green and covered with so many flowers. So beautiful! The traditional Eater egg rolling competition. 2 garden rakes are crossed together and the winner is the person who can roll there coloured egg the furthest away with out cracking.
This is such a great idea. Every year in stead of an Easter egg hunt all of the Young adults of Kiranschöring organise a Beer hunt in the forest. Every one pays €5 and a lot of Beer and a few special prise bottles of snaps, spirts and wine are bought. The younger kids then hid the alcohol in the the forest until the signal is given to the crowed waiting on the other side of the oval. On the signal they all race as fast as they can to get to the beer. They must only drink one beer at a time before they look for another one. Lots of fun!The young boys hiding the beer. The spirits arrive, and the race begins.
The young boys enjoying a few beers, with permission of there parents....of course. Our easter present from Toms Mum.
