After asking a very friendly man at the information center how was the best way to see the sights of Barcelona....we set out walking. First stop was the Sangrada Familia, the famous unfinished masterpiece of Antoni Gaudi.
Other than the amazing works of Gaudi our experience in Barcelona was not a good one.
We were riped of by the locals on at least 4 different occasions and found the people to be quite rude and unfriendly....which does not leave you with a good feeling about a city.
After seeing the couple next to us order one we couldn't resist, we had to get a seafood platter at least once on our trip.
It turned out to be one of the worst meals I have ever ordered in a restaurant, and all for only €40!
Most of the platter was inedible. After complaining to the chef and asking him if the fish and prawns were all frozen he admitted the whole platter was frozen, he offered to give us some more fish, a very unappealing offer.
Then the manager came over, asked us what was wrong and laughed at us and walked off...next the cook came back and offered us a free coffee. The restaurant was recommended to us by the man working at the information counter, we had no doubt in our minds that he must have had a connection or some type of self interest in this poor excuse for a restaurant.
After our meal we decided to get a Gelati to get the bad taste out of our mouths, Tom made the mistake of ordering Roquefort flavoured ice cream (blue cheese) eeeeeeewwwwwwwww!
