LAUTERBRUNNEN

10/8/08
SWITZERLAND
After crossing the boarder to Switzerland there was a very sudden drop in temperature.
For the first time on our trip we had to put on jackets.Photo break....We stoped on the side of the road and climbed up the side of a mountain to see a snow field. Our fantastic camp ground in the beautiful town of Lauterbrunnen was surrounded by mountains cliffs and water falls.

BOLOGNA & LAGO MAGGIORE

9/8/08
We had not planed to visit Bologna
but stoped there on the way through to Lago Maggiore.
Bologna is home to over 400,000 people. It is well known as a university town with old buildings and impressive cuisine.
This is definitely a town I would like to come back to and spend some more time as we only had a few hours here.

I was a little shocked by this fountain and had to stop for a double take....
It's not every day you see women squirting water out of there nipples.
Next stop Lago Maggiore, another place I would love to visit again. Beautiful scenery, romantic, lots to see and do and the best thing of all was the lack of tourist.

TUSCANY

7/8/08
After spending the last couple of days looking for a nice B&B in Tuscany we finally found one in the picturesque town of Chianti.
Palazzo Squarcialupi albergo
Located in the middle of the little village of Castellina is a recently renovated 14th century B&B/Hotel and was the perfect Tuscan experience.
Our very large room overlooked the beautiful cobbled main street and the relaxing terrace on the opposite side of the building had an amazing view of the rolling Tuscan hill side, complete with grape vines and olive trees.
After many hot nights in the back of the car on a single mattress one night of luxury was exactly what we needed to refuel for the rest of our trip.

Our heavy brass room key...
Our large bedroom with air conditioning!Tom having a continental breakfast Tuscan style.Relaxing by the pool....In the basement of the building there was a brand new multi million dollar wellness center, saunas, Turkish steam bathes, special jet showers and relaxing day beds. Tom and I had the whole place to our selves and after a few laps of the facilities tom and I fell asleep on the day beds only to wake up 2hrs latter with drool running down my face ahhhh so relaxing.
