LAUTERBRUNNEN, MÜRREN & INTERLAKEN

11/8/08
Morning view of waterfall.
After breakfast we headed of on our bikes for a tour of Lauterbrunnen.
First stop was the Trümmelbachfälle.
10 glacial water falls inside a mountain which is the out let for the huge glacial walls of the Eiger (3979m), Mönch (4099m) and the Jungfrau (4158m) with 20,000 litres of water per second passing through the falls.
View from out side the water falls.
Next we took a Gondola to the beautiful town of Mürren on the lower part of Mount SchilthornThe tinny town of MürrenA hot lunch and Radler with a breathtaking view. Definitely the most dramatic and beautiful scenery of our travels so far.
After lunch we took a track recommended to us by the man at our camp ground......hmmmm, if you have a crazy death wish you would love this track!
No one in there right mind would ride down here, it was even to much for Tom the extreme sports man.
The only person we saw was dressed in full protective clothing, full facial helmet, back protector leg and arm pads.....
I managed to break the wheel on my bike so it no longer turned so Tom and I had to run with our bikes down the mountain for an hour, still heaps of fun and a great workout.
We found a beautiful quite camp ground on a lake just out of Interlaken. The water in the lake was icy around 14deg.....Tom took a swim with out me.Enjoying a coffee and watching the sun go down on the side of the lake.

Many night photos of the same pier...
