PRAGUE

27/10/08 - 29/10/08
CZECH REPUBLIC
First stop on my trip of Eastern Europe with Sarah and Sam was the beautiful city of Prague.
Sarah and Sam found an excellent hostel right next to the river and the old town and only 5min walk from Charles Bridge. It was in a beautiful old building, we had a large room to our selves and hardly ever saw any of the other guests so it was like we had a big apartment to our selves, and so cheap. www.riverbank.cz
The view from our apartment balcony......For our first night in Prague we visited 4 pubs that all produce there own beer, Sam was in heaven!
We also had our first opportunity to try Czech food, which I found had similarities to German cuisine, the food was mainly based on meat, bread or potato dumplings and cabbage...very heavy food!
Sarah decided to try the Plum Brandy...."Having trouble swallowing Sarah?"The Old Town Square(Staromestske Namesti) is one of the two main squares in the city center. If you are feeling romantic you can take a horse and carriage ride through Prague.
Bird Poo at night.Early morning in Prague.
Charles Bridge. The long climb up the stairs to the Hradcany Castle.St. Vitus Cathedral inside Prague Castle.

Prague has a fantastic under ground train system, which made it very easy to get around.
This is one of the retro walls on one of the platforms, very SiFi!
