My First Week In Germany

7/7/08
Today it was 13 degrees and raining the weather can change very quickly around here.

6/7/08
Holiday planing at last....we finally decided to sit down and plan were we will go on our trip on the banks of lake until the storm warning came and every one had to pack up and leave the beach.

5/7/08
This morning Tom took me on a hike up mountain Teisenberg apparently the small one!!! which Tom normally toboggans down(he is crazy!)
One the top we stoped at a big cabin for coffee and a traditional cake...while the cows walked around us with there giant bells around there necks.
After our walk we went Trout fishing in his friends Grandparents creek....you can only fish with a licence here and it is very expensive and some parts impossible to obtain. If you have your own private land on some creaks and rivers you can fish.
We managed to catch 3 good sized Trout. Tom even caught 1 with a stick and a hand net...

4/7/08

Today I bought a cool mountain bike for our trip, very exciting and then we had a drink with some of Toms friends in Trunstine.

3/7//08

Today we went down the Alz River in an inflatable raft. It was a slow trip but it was lots of fun.
The sports machine.................ready for action.

Crazy , Terrifying man made rapids............After 1/2 an hour I had figured out the best rowing position!

Tom doing all the rowing, while I enjoy the view!
Showing Tom how to do it in Germany...................
2/7/08
We spent the day today at the beautiful Lake Königsee......We took a small ferry across the lakes and then walked around the hills and lake......The landscape was breathtaking. From the walking path high in the hills you could see all the giant Pike in the water(Big ugly fish that eat the trout).

Mountain man enjoying the view.......... The perfect place to stop for an Ice cold Radler and glass of fresh milk from the cows in the hills..........
2 for 1 Ray Ban Promotion......................
Me and the baby cow with the curious tongue.................

We got caught in a big storm on the lake....the weather can turn very quickly around here, especially in the mountains................
Tonight Tom took me for a traditional big Bavarian meal which included....Semmelknödel, Blaukraut, lots of meat washed down with a big Radler and a Pear Snaps.....What a belly ache!

1/7/08
Today we went bike riding in the hills
On the side of the bike path there were Willed strawberries growing....
there really Small but taste amazing.
The water was so clear in Lake Taubensee that you could see all the large Trout swimming around.
A tinny little frog I found in the grass....

Lake Lödensee. ..................
After our bike ride we went for a walk through the Weißbachschlucht...........
30/6/08
Today went into Austria to do some shopping for supplies and look around Salzburg.
Allot of Germans go to Austria just to fill up on petrol as the taxes are allot lower and fuel is almost 50cents cheaper.
Salzburg Getreidegasse(Weat Alley)........................

29/6/o8
Today Tom took me for a bike ride around lake Tachinger See.
On the way around we saw a trout farm and met up with his family for a swim at the local lake beach...to swim at this particular spot you have to pay so the locals swim in to the beach from the side of the lake. It was very funny to see his mum and dad sneaking out through the reeds.

To day was Toms oldest brothers Stefan's Birthday, So we picked up Wes and headed over to Stefan's house for a feast of Trout on big sticks and salads...mmmm....washed down with a Radler (beer with lemonade) in a huge 1 letter glass.

At night we headed into Trunstine as Germany made it through to the soccer European finals to watch the game on a big projection screen out side in a beer garden. I meet allot of Toms friends they were so lovely, They helped me blend in with some German face paint!

Tom picked me up late Saturday night at Munich air port. It was so great to see him after such a long wait....and he bought me a bunch of wild flowers he and his mum had picked for me on a bike ride that day...as you can imagine I couldn't get the smile of my face...
